Project Summary

May, 2007

A one time funding opportunity has been provided to Ontario school boards to enhance the planning and delivery of effective staff development and training at the board level for all non-teaching/support staff.  The Ontario Education Services Corporation (OESC) has been awarded a grant from the Ministry of Education to lead, plan, implement and evaluate this project.  OESC, a non-profit agency, was formed in 2002 by the four Ontario Trustees’ Associations and the Council of Directors of Education (CODE) to save boards money and to collaborate on common areas of interest.

This project presents a unique opportunity for boards to review current staff development planning and practice, and to set new goals and priorities. OESC will work with identified boards to support approaches producing long-term sustainable impact on this important area of staff development. Best practice that is identified during this project will be shared in a report to the Ministry of Education.

OESC will work with the successful boards to finalize implementation plans, including a possible research component.
